Dear Mr. Maron,

I am a devoted fan of your podcast “WTF with Marc Maron.” I’ve discussed the show many times with friends, and absolutely EVERYONE I’ve spoken to echoes the sentiment that they fast-forward your “rant” at the beginning of each show.

The intent of this petition is to inform you of this, so you can stop recording a rant that no one is listening to and get straight to the interview. Take a few minutes up front for plugs, and maybe a quick note about major events in your life, and save everything else for the stage. This would benefit your advertisers in the sense that people will no longer potentially skip their ads, and prevent you from having to conjure up 10-15 minutes of “material” each week to intro the show with.

I may be completely off-base with this observation, so I will let the amount of signatures speak for themselves. I want to save you the extra effort, and provide fans with a shorter podcast that they listen to in its entirety, including paid advertisements.

Everyone wins.

(Except your insatiable ego.)
