In the first two seasons of “Seinfeld” the show had a different opening theme than the jazzy bass-driven one we now know. The first incarnation of what would become the now iconic theme is introduced alongside their first non-helvetica logo in the season three opener, “The Note.”
Interestingly, this intro features a female vocalist “scatting” along with the song, and it sounds terrible. This was pulled from future episodes, and I would imagine if they’d kept it for the subsequent six seasons and DVDs, she probably would have made about eight million dollars.
