A few months ago I went to watch the trailer for “Confessions of a Superhero” and instead found that you could watch the entire movie on IMDB.
For free.
It’s not exactly advertised, but IMDB has a page where you can watch full-length “movies.” The word movies is in quotes because most of the page represents B-movie and C-movie dreck that they licensed for nothing.
“Baby Geniuses” anyone?
The content is what you’d expect if Netflix Instant had a drug problem. But! If you were really hard up for free entertainment, you could watch movies there instead of on YouTube.
It looks like most of it is provided by Hulu, but the Hulu page mixes in TV and other junk, and has a bunch of annoying thumbnails to scroll through.
Here’s the challenge, amidst this mess of movies there are some “decent” movies you could watch. I see:
“Reign Over Me” with Adam Sandler and Don Cheadle
“Radio Flyer” with a young Elijah Wood and evil stepdad
“Short Circuit” and “Short Circuit 2” ‘nuff said
“Stella: Live in Boston” (yes!)
“Ip Man” badass kung fu movie
“Donnie Brasco” (awesome)
“Before The Devil Knows You’re Dead” great movie starring Phillip Seymour Hoffman
Amongst these “hits” are other suspicious titles like:
“Kidnapping Madonna’s Baby”
“Circuits: A Toy Story”
“Poison: Rock Legends”
“How To Be A Cyber-Lovah”
and of course, “Yank Tanks”
Now be careful, there are plenty of titles that sound suspiciously like a good movie, and may even be a touch over the line in terms of copyright infringement so be careful for clones.

What decent movie did you find?
